Michele Armenta is a professional dog trainer, specializing in K9 scent work, evaluating dogs for families, group classes for pet dogs, service dog training, kennel management, and e=collar/off leash training.

Michele started dog training at PetSmart when she was just 18. She completed the master trainer course and started creating her own group basic obedience classes 3 months later. Michele quickly grew a following and established an impeccable reputation for her training techniques and results. Her clientele grew from the greater Jacksonville FL and St. Augustine area, coming to train with Michele because of her fun and positive reinforcement training classes. She originally only learned to train completely positive for the first 4 years of her career.

Michele has continued her professional development through specialized education courses, seminars and workshops throughout the US, being introduced to other trainers and training methods. She also started working as a vet tech, allowing her to learn more about the health and anatomy of the canine species, ensuring her training and education is well rounded.

In 2012, she met the owner of BARK, a small doggy boutique in Jacksonville. Michele joined the partnership and helped open a second store for daycare/boarding/training. Michele developed and supervised the Doggy day care, boarding, group classes, as well as private lessons.

Michele began her apprenticeship under Roslyn Henderson in 2012, shadowing under her and another professional trainer at K9s for Warriors, building on her training techniques for service dogs for PTSD and mobility issues. She developed tools for behavior modifications and service dog evaluations processes allowing for new techniques to utilize rescue dogs for service dog work.

Michele established her own business, Bark University, in 2012, in which she provided board and training services, as well behavior modifications and follow on training for pets. She established a niche in NE Florida, training dogs for elderly patients with catastrophic injuries.

Michele enjoys specializing in K9 scent work, assisting in evaluating dogs for families, teaching group classes for pet dogs, training and pairing service dogs, kennel management, and e=collar/off leash training. She also competes in fun activities with her own dogs, such as dock diving and rally. She titled her female golden in Rally up to RE in less than a year, and traveled all over Florida competing with her male golden in dock diving.

Michele is a member of several K9 training organizations and clubs such as, Florida Law Enforcement Canine Association and the International Association of Canine Professionals. She has created an enormous following in Jacksonville with pet dog classes and pack walks.

Michele is married to Arick Armenta and they have a daughter, Rhyan, as well as two dogs, a golden retriever and an Australian Shepard.
